A Westinghouse square light bulb - these are rare, they sopped making them in the early 90's - I found this one in my mom's garage!

Making a custom base - wanted something 'steam-punk'ish" to fit that old Universal look...

ROBBY THE ROBOT: Forbidden Plant Light-Bulb Portrait

Another really fun commission - Robby was a challenge, is shape it the complete opposite of a light bulb! - But I'm really happy with how it turned out.. the added 3D sculpt pieces for the ear-buds made all the difference.

ROCKETEER

One of my all time favorite films is THE ROCKETEER! - based on the Dave Stevens comic this light bulb portrait takes it's inspiration from the Disney film.

Reference is always important...

The poster hangs in my studio. Working in layers of color, the brass was a bit to brassy. I toned it down and dirtied it up a bit...

FROZEN GIRLS - Elsa & Anna

I was commissioned to do the two main characters from Disney's hit film FROZEN!
I painted both of these simultaneously - it was a lot of fun, and two of the hardest light-bulb portraits I've done to date!

I decided early on to do some 3D elements to these - adding sculpted braided hair...

I went with a pale blue on the base and added some glitter spray - for the Frozen look!

BATMAN: JLU Light-Bulb Portrait

Was commissioned for another Batman bulb - this time it was Batman as he appeared in the animated series, JUSTICE LEAGUE UNLIMITED!

Batman in this series had the extremely long ears - I am always keen to add some 3D features to the bulbs and always refining and experimenting with the textiles... Like the FLASH's fins, I used craft foam for the ears. It seemed to hold up better and was a bit more flexible (and forgiving) once glued into place!
